A rejuvenative, ashwaghanda-based vata-balancing drink.
The herb ashwaghanda gives endurance, resilience to stress, groundedness and virility. It is ideal for balancing vata and kapha dosha, and is a great herb to boost immunity and stability in the fall months.
Taken on a regular basis, it promotes sound sleep. Its taste is a bit like a dry root (ginsengy) but using it in preparations like this one makes it palatable and actually delicious.
- 1 tsp ghee
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- black pepper
- 1 cup milk of your choice (e.g. almond milk)
- 1/2 tsp ashwaghanda powder
- 1 generous teaspoon raw organic honey
Heat 1 tsp ghee in saucepan. Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and a few grinds of black pepper (optional). Mix lightly with heat. Add 1 cup almond milk (or the milk of your preference) and 1/2 tsp ashwaghanda powder. Stir & heat until warm.
Remove from heat and add 1 generous tsp raw organic honey and stir. Avoid adding honey when the milk is too hot (it burns the honey and makes it toxic).
