This is one of my favourite face masks : nourishing, cooling and antibacterial.
Turmeric has been by women across the ages to promote beautiful, radiant skin. At the cellular level, turmeric slows cell damage and inflammation. It is known to reduces acne, eczema, dry skin and wrinkles, and supporting an even and radiant skin tone.
- 2 tbsp full fat plain organic yogurt
- 1/2 tsp rosewater
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1/8 tsp ground black peppercorn
Mix together to form a golden paste or cream. If the substance is too runny, you can add a little more yogurt. Apply directly to the face. Leave on for 10-30 minutes. If certain parts of the face absorb the yogurt quickly, you can reapply a little more. When you are finished, rinse well and pat dry with an old towel.
Repeat 1-2 a week, or as desired.
– Stay home and use an old towel: The turmeric in this recipe will leave your skin with a slight orange hue, so you’ll want to try this one when you can stay home for the evening. Also, be sure to use an old towel to wash your face afterwards. I also normally recommend wearing an old t-shirt too.
– Yogurt with less fat can be used for this recipe, but provides a less nourishing (and more runny) face mask.
