About Briya Freeman
Briya (Rachel) Freeman has been facilitating courses in natural healing, meditation and modern spirituality in both private and corporate settings since 2011.
She is the creator of The Bloom Project, an 8-week online course in self-care and radiant living for women, inspired by the wisdom of ayurveda, a natural healing science.
Briya is currently based in Ottawa, Canada and also offers courses online.
Education & Inspiration
Briya has over 15 years’ experience in yoga, meditation and mind-body healing. She primarily draws her inspiration from her long-term mentorship under the guidance of Berdhanya Swami Tierra, a female mystic and shaman of South American origin, and from the science of ayurveda, a system of holistic medicine and self-care.
Briya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management (2006), studies in international business from l’Ecole Superieure de Commerce (Rouen, France, 2004), and studies in ayurveda (Anjali School of Ayurveda and Panchakarma, Kerala, India, 2012-2015).
From 2005 to 2016, Briya served in the Canadian public service with the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. She presently works as a consultant and facilitator for Global Affairs Canada.
Briya is an enthusiast for exploring the potentials of human consciousness in a way that respects, unites and transcends global culture and tradition.
She has traveled extensively across Europe, Asia and the Americas for spiritual pilgrimages, retreats and personal adventures.
Since 2015, she has also had the honour of serving as Berdhanya Swami Tierra’s Director of International Relations, and regularly supports her work by facilitating international courses, pilgrimages and retreats.
To date, Briya has given meditation courses in 6 countries.
A long-time enthusiast of the written word, Briya’s work has been published in Ayurveda Mantra, an international magazine promoting natural health, yoga and higher awareness and Blissful Magazine, a magazine dedicated to seekers of truth.
She is also the co-founder of Eagle Feather Books, an independent publishing company dedicated to the development of human consciousness.
She has also served as editor in several recent publications, including Lost Secrets of the Feminine (2019), The Pillow Book (2018), Mastering Reality: Ground Work for Inner Sovereignty (2017), Steps of the Seeker (2017), Artisans of the New Earth (2012) and The Altar of the Initiate (2012).
